Как мы трудно умнеем и долго,
принимая то тех, то иных
за глашатаев нашей вины,
за певцов искупленья и долга.
Как печальна их участь порой
как им наша вредна просвещенность -
в жизни таинства их посвященность
предстает несерьезной игрой.
Но признаться нам стыдно подчас,
что творец нам, увы, непонятен,
ну а вдруг бесталанно невнятен —
хоть пытай, не услышишь от нас.
Это лень и душевный уют
из тепла не пускают, из шкуры,
и пласты вековые культуры
нам сокровища не отдают.
Неразобранный этот багаж
черным ящиком давит на плечи,
и скрежещут кондовые речи,
и изящный звенит эпатаж.
Так легко, овладев ремеслом
и повадкой духовной элиты,
убедить всех, что где-то болит там,
и при этом с большим мастерством.
И поверит доверчивый суд
в глубину твоей мысли и страсти,
ты добьешься над думами власти,
и тебя над людьми вознесут...
Ты в какие-то тайны проник,
но искать пьедестала не стоит.
Помни правило это простое -
мастер тот, кто всегда ученик.
Научись ненавидеть себя
за бесстрастье, покорность и леность,
добывай из ошибок нетленность,
все печали на это губя.
