ВЛАДЫКИ БУДДЫ
Начало пути
Владыка Будда действительно покинул родной город. Действительно созерцал под деревом мудрости. Действительно учил в Бенаресе. Действительно окончил Учительство Свое в Кушинагаре, но века прибавили много басен.
Владыка покинул родной город на коне в сопровождении посланного слуги. Дорога лежала на северо-запад вдоль долины реки. Две недели продолжался ускоренный путь. Когда миновали горные переходы, кончился конный путь, дальше вела охотничья тропа.
Здесь явленный слуга оставил Его, но на прощание сказал; "Брат Царевич, иди и, когда найдешь хижину охотника, передай ему этот кусок дерева". И дал Ему кусок де-рева с тремя знаками.
Владыка шел семь дней по тропе. На восьмой день дошел до хижины. Дверь была открыта, и высокий старик, одетый в старую грязную поддевку, стругал дерево.
Владыка обратился с приветствиями, согласно обычаю Индии. Но охотник рассмеялся и указал на дерево. Владыка вспомнил о куске дерева и передал ему. Старик внимательно осмотрел знаки и добродушно указал на стол в хижине. Владыка понял приглашение и отведал дичь и мед. Затем старик знаками указал Владыке отдохнуть.
Когда Владыка Будда проснулся, солнце только что озарило снега. Охотника не было в хижине, но со двора раздавался стук его топора. Но вот его фигура показалась в дверях и подала Владыке питье из меда. Затем старик взял суму и копье и указал на солнце. Владыка понял, что пора в путь, и, взяв посох, вышел из хижины. Старик трижды поклонился Ему и указал следовать.
Подойдя к кустарнику, он раздвинул ветви, и обнаружилась узкая тропа. Он сделал знак Владыке следовать за ним и быстро пошел вперед, указывая на солнце. Так шли они до полудня, лес начал редеть, и стал доноситься шум реки, они вышли на берег.
Старик натянул лук и послал стрелу. Молча ждали они. Владыка снял с себя оставшиеся украшения и подал старику. Но тот указал бросить в реку.
Вот появился на другом берегу высокий человек, выдвинул челн и направился к ним. Кафтан его был оторочен мехом и лицо очень смуглое, широкое. Достигнув берега, незнакомец поклонился Владыке и пригласил его в челн.
Владыка хотел проститься с охотником, но тот незаметно исчез. Незнакомец также хранил молчание. Достигнув берега, они сели на коней и стали подыматься в гору.
Ночью достигли они предела снегов и на рассвете спустились в Обитель.

Vladyka left his hometown on a horse accompanied by a sent servant. The road lay north-west along the river valley. The accelerated path continued for two weeks. When the mountain transitions passed, the horse path ended, then led the hunting path.
Here the manifested servant left him, but said goodbye; "Brother Tsarevich, go and, when you find a hunter’s hut, give him this piece of wood." And he gave him a piece of de-la with three signs.
Vladyka walked seven days along the path. On the eighth day, I reached the hut. The door was open, and a tall old man, dressed in an old dirty subordus, chopped a tree.
Vladyka asked greetings, according to the custom of India. But the hunter laughed and pointed to a tree. Vladyka remembered a piece of wood and handed it to him. The old man carefully examined the signs and good -naturedly pointed to the table in the hut. Vladyka understood the invitation and tasted the game and honey. Then the old man indicated the signs to the lord to rest.

But his figure appeared in the doorway and gave the lord drinking from honey. Then the old man took Suma and a spear and pointed to the sun. Vladyka realized that it was time to go, and, taking the staff, he left the hut. The old man bowed to him three times and indicated to follow.
Going to the bush, he spread the branches, and a narrow path was discovered. He made a sign to the lord to follow him and quickly went forward, pointing to the sun. So they walked until noon, the forest began to thin, and the noise of the river began to come, they went ashore.
The old man pulled the bow and sent an arrow. Silently they waited. Vladyka took off the remaining jewelry and handed over to the old man. But he indicated to throw him into the river.
Here a tall man appeared on the other side, put forward Chelny and headed for them. His caftan was trimmed with fur and his face is very dark, wide. Having reached the shore, the stranger bowed to the lord and invited him to Cheln.
