В одном далеком царстве за тридевять земель
Жил-был отважный рыцарь, что так редки теперь.

Он весел был и скромен, находчив и умен,

Да только, к сожаленью, в любви был робок он.
И в том же самом царстве суровый был король,
А дочь его - принцесса - ему ласкала взор,
Но радость омрачила коварная судьба:
Принцесса злым драконом украдена была.

И в тот же миг по свету разосланы гонцы,

Мол, требуются срочно на выручку бойцы.

Кто победит дракона - источник бед и зла,

Тому принцесса в жены обещана была.

Никто не хочет царство освободить от бед.

Лишь наш отважный рыцарь достойный сделал ход:

Не медля ни минуты отправился в поход.
Но я сейчас не буду рассказывать о том,
Как он в горах схватился с огромнейшим котом,
Как спас в лесу мальчишку, попавшего в капкан,
И разогнал разбойничью шайку по кустам.
Он шел дорогой длинной, бегущей в небосвод,
Творя добро попутно и не боясь невзгод.
И логово дракона нашел он наконец.
Спокойно помолившись, достал меч-кладенец.
И битва завязалась и был дракон силен,
Дышал огнём и жаром и щит оплавил он.
И солнце враз померкло и вздыбилась земля,
И превратились в угли тополя.
Но наш отважный рыцарь совсем не лыком шит
И был на третьи сутки дракон уже убит.
Придворные ликуют и рад король-отец,
Принцесса невредимой вернулась во дворец.
И вновь гонцы помчались трубить на целый мир,
Чтоб гости собирались скорей на брачный пир.
И свадьба состоялась, вино текло рекой.
А мне с моею сказкой пора уж на покой.
И все бы было славно, но я сказать забыл...
Что наш отважный рыцарь принцессу не любил.

He was breathing with fire and heat and shield left.

And turned into a poplar coal.

And on the third day, the dragon was already killed.
