...Пилигримы дошли, не останавливаясь, до Отрадных гор, тоже принадлежавших Владыке той горы, о которой мы говорили выше. Они поднялись на перевал и с восторгом смотрели на окрестные сады и виноградники. Из чистого родника попили они воды и умылись ею, потом поели сладкого спелого винограда. По склонам гор пастухи пасли стада овец. Пилигримы подошли к ним и, опираясь на посохи, спросили, кому принадлежат Отрадные горы и чьи стада на них пасутся.
- Эти горы лежат на земле Эммануила неподалеку от Его города, - ответили пастухи. - Стада тоже Его, и Он положил жизнь Свою за них.
- Эта ли дорога ведет к Небесному Граду?
- Вы стоите на верном пути к нему.
- А далеко ли еще идти?
- Кому далеко, а кому и нет; для тех, кто действительно отдал свою жизнь Богу, - близко.
- А путь безопасен?
- Безопасен для праведников, а беззаконные падут на нем.
- Не найдется ли здесь места для пилигримов, желающих передохнуть и набраться сил?
- Владыка гор поручил нам "не забывать оказывать гостеприимство странникам", поэтому все, что мы имеем, к вашим услугам, - ответили пастухи.
...В это время пилигримы пожелали продолжить свой путь, и пастухи решили их проводить и с миром отпустить. Поднявшись на вершину горы Ясная, пастухи, посоветовавшись, решили показать им ворота Небесного Града, которые отсюда можно было разглядеть в бинокль. У бедных пилигримов от всего увиденного и услышанного дрожали руки, они с трудом держали в руках бинокль и потому толком ничего не смогли разглядеть. Однако им все- таки показалось, что они увидели нечто вроде ворот, за которыми было что-то необычайно прекрасное.
И они отправились далее, напевая:
"От пастухов узнали мы тайны, которые сокрыты от прочих людей! Идите же к пастухам, если кто из вас желает узнать то сокровенное, что до времени остается тайной".
На прощание каждый из пастухов дал пилигримам в дорогу напутствие. Познание подарил описание дальнейшего маршрута, Опытный предостерег: "Берегитесь Соблазнителя", Бдительный посоветовал не засыпать на Очарованной земле, и, наконец, Искренний напутствовал их: "Бог с Вами!".
На этом я проснулся.
- Эти горы лежат на земле Эммануила неподалеку от Его города, - ответили пастухи. - Стада тоже Его, и Он положил жизнь Свою за них.

“These mountains lie on Emmanuel’s land not far from His city,” answered the shepherds. - The flocks are also His, and He laid down His life for them.
- Is this the road that leads to the Heavenly City?
- You are on the right path to it.
- How far is it still to go?
- Some are far away and some are not; for those who have truly given their lives to God, it is close.
- Is the path safe?
- Safe for the righteous, and the wicked will fall on it.
- Isn’t there a place here for pilgrims who want to rest and gain strength?
“The Lord of the Mountains instructed us to “remember to show hospitality to strangers,” so everything we have is at your service,” the shepherds answered.
...At this time, the pilgrims wished to continue their journey, and the shepherds decided to see them off and let them go in peace. Having climbed to the top of Mount Yasnaya, the shepherds, after consulting, decided to show them the gates of the Heavenly City, which could be seen from here with binoculars. The poor pilgrims’ hands were shaking from everything they saw and heard; they could hardly hold the binoculars in their hands and therefore could not really see anything. However, they still thought that they saw something like a gate, behind which there was something extraordinarily beautiful.
And they went on, singing:
“From the shepherds we learned secrets that are hidden from other people! Go to the shepherds if any of you wants to know that secret thing that remains a secret for a while.”
At parting, each of the shepherds gave the pilgrims parting words on their journey. Cognition gave a description of the further route, the Experienced One warned: “Beware of the Seducer,” the Vigilant advised not to fall asleep on the Enchanted Land, and, finally, the Sincere One admonished them: “God is with you!”
This is where I woke up.
