Кот гулял в лесу
Ходил сам по себе
Гонял птиц
Игрался с мотыльком
Взбирался по сосне
Вздремнул под каменным навесом
Прошёлся вдоль тропинки
Как вдруг...
Он был опасен и суров
И круглые глаза глядели строго
Уши прижаты, хвост трубой
Ясно, не отступиться с дороги
Их ожидает трудный бой.
Котик выгнул спину, зашипел
И лапки мягкие открыли сталь когтей
Но его противник не робел
И не ушёл искать других путей
Угли глаз следили неотрывно
Лапы сильные готовились к броску
Пушистый хвост подрагивал чуть нервно
И нос блестел, враг явно начеку
Смотрели птицы с любопытством
Свысока
Кричали: "не показывай стальных когтей
Пускай в лесу царит покой и процветание"
А сами были счастливы, что кот
Не обратил на них внимание
И вдруг...
Противник показал клыки
Котей такого вытерпеть не мог
Он оттолкнулся лапами и бросился вперёд
Враг оказался твердым и холодным
Но наш котик вырос во дворе
Он стойкий и отважный даже на стекле
И враг не долго оставался гордым
Он молчал, и выглядел так злобно
Вокруг валялись клочья шерсти, капли крови
И он, не замечая боли
Смотрел в глаза сквозь сетку трещин
"какой он глупый... смелый" - думал кот
Упрямо стоя на дрожащих лапах
"едва живой, а хвост трубой
И шерсть как у меня
И смотрит так же, как и я
Как жаль, что должен я его царапать"
Птицы все трусливо разлетелись
Кто не успел, тот перья стал терять
А ведь они так радостно запели
Когда человеческий ребенок
Оставил зеркало у дерева стоять
