Домик над рекою,
В окнах огонёк,
Светлой полосою
На воду он лёг.
В доме не дождутся
С ловли рыбака:
Обещал вернуться
Через два денька.
Но прошёл и третий,
А его всё нет,
Ждут напрасно дети,
Ждёт и старый дед,
Всех нетерпеливей
Ждёт его жена,
Ночи молчаливей
И как холст бледна.
Вот за ужин сели,
Ей не до еды.
«Как бы, в самом деле
Не было беды».
Вдоль реки несётся
Лодочка, на ней
Песня раздаётся
Всё слышней, слышней,
Звуки той знакомой
Песни услыхав,
Дети вон из дому
Бросились стремглав.
Весело вскочила
Из-за прялки мать,
И у деда силы
Вдруг нашлось бежать
Песню заглушает
Звонкий крик ребят;
Тщетно унимает
Старый дед внучат.
Вот и воротился
Весел и здоров!
В россказни пустился
Тотчас про улов.
В морды он и в сети
Наловил всего;
С любопытством дети
Слушают его.
Смотрит дед на щуку,
«Больно велика!»
Мать сынишке в руку
Сует окунька.
Девочка присела
Около сетей
И взяла несмело
Парочку ершей.
Прыгают, смеются
Детки, если вдруг
Рыбки встрепенутся,
Выскользнут из рук.
Долго раздавался
Смех их над рекой;
Ими любовался
Месяц золотой.
Ласково мерцали
Звёзды с вышины;
Детям обещали
Радостные сны.
