В ясном небе вдруг пропало солнце,
В море волны прекратили бег,
На рыбацкой шхуне три японца
Увидали судна силуэт.
За кормою - мёртвая гладь,
И в эфире нет голосов,
Совершено чист горизонт,
Ясно различим силуэт.
Только знает каждый моряк,
Что таких судов уже нет.
Дым клубится чёрный из труб,
И покрыт стальной он бронёй
На высокой мачте его
Гордо веет боевой флаг!
Грозно смотрят пушек стволы
Из проёмов тёмных портов,
И в глубоких трюмах его
Адский пламень в топках горит.
Броненосец чёрной стрелой
Курсом на японцев летит!
Всё ближе и ближе стальная громада -
Казалось, он больше Японии всей!
Японцы забыли про честь самураев
И полный назад дали шхуне своей.

Дали залп орудья броненосца-
Раскололось небо над водой -
И не долго спорили японцы,
Что на дно морское брать с собой.
Снова стало тихо вокруг -
Совершенно пуст горизонт,
На волнах спасательный круг
И обломки шхуны плывут.
Над Цусимой чист небосвод –
Только чайки грустно кричат.
Безмятежна водная гладь,
Ночь темна, сияние звёзд!
Под японским флагом опять
Судно с грузом нефти идёт…
