В тот час, когда звезды над темной землей
Светили все ярче и строже,
Ты был награжден безупречной броней -
Броней из собственной кожи.
Ее пробивает любая стрела
И режет даже трава,
Но в ней можно скрыть остаток тепла,
Не выплеснутый в слова.
И звезды смеялись, любуясь собой
В зеркалах океанов,
Собачьих богов вызывая на бой
С богами змей и баранов.
Все ближе и ближе звучат в тишине
Копыта, колеса, шаги -
Но ты был укрыт в своей личной броне,
И отступали враги.
Желание жить пробьет средь камней
Проходы сквозь горы и стены,
Протянется нитью прямо ко мне,
Укажет дорогу из плена,
И жажду любви опять утолит
Вода великих озер -
Всех тех, над которыми молча горит
Вечный звездный костер.
Земли, где сейчас наступает весна,
На карте по-прежнему нет.
Не нужно искать, где порвалась струна
И где заблудился рассвет -
Ведь нету спасения в той стороне,
И в этой никто не поможет...
Так встань и иди в самой лучшей броне -
В броне из собственной кожи!

And where the dawn got lost -
