Король от сытой скуки устроил развлечение
Собрал маркизов важных и разных простаков
И кто рискнёт головушкой под страхом отсечения
Исполнить три задания за замок кто готов
Один нашёлся лапотник что про свою головушку

Король в ладоши хлопая и предвкушая кровушку
Достать живое мертвое задание загадал
От большого ума множатся печали
Потеряешь к чудесам праздный интерес
Не спеши прерывать выслушай вначале
Жить с умом тяжело точно легче без
Достал он из кармана одно зерно пшеницы
Оно видать валялось уже не первый год
В горшок земли насыпал да и полил водицей
И объявил что мертвое в неделю оживёт
Со следующим заданием он справился не хуже
Король уже напрягся и палачу дал знак
Простак ответ на третьем сказал который нужен
И всем стало понятно ну кто же тут дурак
От большого ума множатся печали

Король уж рвёт и мечет и обвинил беднягу
Что тот в союзе с чёртом свершает тяжкий грех
Епископ что короне дал давеча присягу
Ругаясь на латыни вопил сильнее всех
И чтоб для верных подданных урок полезный вышел
Не нужно в государстве быть умнее короля
Про интеллект казнённого в газетах не напишут
А голову отрубят вам на раз и вуаля
