Спускается солнце за горный хребет,
И снег на вершинах сверкает огнем,
И звезды, как сотни бриллиантов зажглись…
Холодные горы прощаются с днем.
И тихо в подгорных пещерных залах –
Кирка не звенит, не стучит молоток.
И только кристаллы сияют в ночи,
Подземной реки освещая поток.
И в штольнях безлюдно, и в шахтах пустынно,
Хоть неба не видно, но ночь все равно.
И, падая вниз. Капли со сталактитов
Разбились, звеня, о пещерное дно.
Один только факел на стенах пылает –
Кому-то же надо остаться в дозор.
И желтый огонь свысока освещает
Цепочку камней у подножия гор.
Но новый рассвет вновь покажется скоро,
И молоты гномов вот-вот зазвучат.
Пока же, во тьме, только звезды сияют
И факел. И только росинки звенят.
