Преподобный Серафим Саровский преподавал всем следующее молитвенное правило: "Восставши от сна, всякий христианин, став перед св. иконами, пусть прочитает молитву Господню "Отче наш" трижды, в честь Пресвятой Троицы, потом песнь Богородице "Богородице Дево, радуйся" также трижды и, наконец, Символ Веры единожды.
Молитва Господня
О́тче наш, И́же еси́ на небесе́х! Да святи́тся и́мя Твое́, да прии́дет Ца́рствие Твое́, да бу́дет во́ля Твоя́, я́ко на небеси́ и на земли́. Хлеб наш насу́щный да́ждь нам днесь; и оста́ви нам до́лги на́ша, я́коже и мы оставля́ем должнико́м на́шим; и не введи́ нас во искуше́ние, но изба́ви нас от лука́ваго.

7 И па́ки гряду́щаго со сла́вою суди́ти живы́м и ме́ртвым, Его́же Ца́рствию не бу́дет конца́.
8 И в Ду́ха Свята́го, Го́спода, Животворя́щаго, И́же от Отца́ исходя́щаго, И́же со Отце́м и Сы́ном спокланя́ема и ссла́вима, глаго́лавшаго проро́ки.
9 Во еди́ну Святу́ю, Собо́рную и Апо́стольскую Це́рковь.
10 Испове́дую еди́но креще́ние во оставле́ние грехо́в.
11 Ча́ю воскресе́ния ме́ртвых,
12 и жи́зни бу́дущаго ве́ка. Ами́нь.
Совершив это правило, всякий христианин пусть занимается своим делом, на которое поставлен или призван. Во время же работы дома или в пути куда-нибудь, пусть тихо читает: “Господи Иисусе Христе, Сыне Божий, помилуй мя грешнаго (или грешную)”, а если окружают его другие, то, занимаясь делом, пусть говорит умом только: “Господи, помилуй” и продолжает до обеда.
Пред самым же обедом пусть совершает вышеуказанное утреннее правило.
После обеда, исполняя свое дело, всякий христианин пусть читает тихо: “Пресвятая Богородице, спаси мя грешнаго” или же: “Господи Иисусе Христе, Богородицею помилуй мя грешнаго (или грешную)”, и это пусть продолжает до самого сна.
Отходя ко сну, всякий христианин пусть снова прочитает вышеуказанное утреннее правило; после того пусть засыпает, оградив себя крестным знамением.
