Since brass, nor stone, nor earth, nor boundless sea,
But sad mortality o'ersways their power,
How with this rage shall beauty hold a plea,
Whose action is no stronger than a flower?
О how shall summer's honey breath hold out
Against the wrackful siege of batt'ring days,
When rocks impregnable are not so stout,
Nor gates of steel so strong, but Time decays?
О fearful meditation! Where, alack,
Shall Time's best jewel from Time's chest lie hid?
Or what strong hand can hold this swift foot back,
Or who his spoil of beauty can forbid?
О none, unless this miracle have might,
That in black ink my love may still shine bright.
Ни море,ни земля,ни камень и ни сталь
Не в силах отразить твои,
о смерть,угрозы-
И красота ли их сильнее-красота ль,
Чья так же власть слаба,
как ландыша и розы?
Как может устоять весенний ветерок
Пред гибельной волной слепого урагана?
Пожрёт и сокрушит седых времён поток,
И сумрачный гранит,и влагу океана.
Мучительная мысль!
Бессилен человек
Спасти единый перл от вас,немые годы!
Какою силою остановить ваш бег?
Кто помешает вам губить красу природы?
На чудо лишь,мой друг,ничтожно их влиянье:
Чернила вечное дадут тебе сиянье.

How is the valley and roses?
How can a spring breeze resist
Before a disastrous wave of a blind hurricane?
He will devour and crush the gray time, a stream,
Both gloomy granite, and moisture of the ocean.
A painful thought!
A person is powerless
Save a single pearl from you, dumb years!
What is the force to stop your run?
Who will prevent you from destroying the beauty of nature?
