По темной узкой улочке он шел к себе домой.
В рубашке грязной, порванной, с разбитою губой,
Но взор сияет радостью в такой тяжелый час:
Он только что принцессу из лап опасных спас.

Но благородство рыцарей не позабыто, нет!
Сиянье лат и шум пиров, мечей и кубков звон,
А где-то за горами ждет жестокий, злой дракон.
Дракон сидит над книгами, не ест он и не спит:
Его учитель, строгий маг, прогулов не простит!
Но взор сияет радостью в такой тяжелый час:
Шпаргалки на эльфийском дракон давно припас.
Закрыты книг со сказками страницы много лет,
Но хитрости драконьи не позабыты, нет!
Сиянье злата, чешуи, шум ветра и полет
А где-то за горами, там отважный рыцарь ждет.
И вот, стоят глаза в глаза: бой зла с добром идет.
Дракон дрожащей лапою берет билет, и вот,
В зачетку рыцарской рукой поставлен средний балл.
Никто из них не победил, никто не проиграл.
Закрыты книг со сказками страницы много лет,
Но связь, легенда древняя, не позабыта, нет!
И в хмеле пива пенного, смеясь в лицо судьбе,
Дракон взметнулся золотом на рыцарском щите.
