Соната для фортепиано № 14 до-диез минор, op. 27 № 2 («Лунная») была написана Бетховеном в 1800—1801 и посвящена его 17-летней ученице, графине Джульетте Гвичарди, которая была женой австрийского композитора В. Р. Галенберга.
Название «Лунная» предложил в 1832 году, уже после смерти автора, поэт Людвиг Рельштаб.
Соната имеет подзаголовок Sonata quasi una fantasia (Соната в духе фантазии): Бетховен хотел подчеркнуть то, что её форма отличается от классической формы сонаты.
В сонате три части:
1. Adagio sostenuto (00:00:00 - 00:05:56)
2. Allegretto (00:06:04 - 00:08:12)
3. Presto agitato (00:08:15 - 00:15:15)
