В Земле Мнар лежит огромное озеро, рядом с которым расположен город Иб. В Ибе живут зелёные, лупоглазые, лопоухие и к тому же немые рыбоподобные существа. Во время каждого полнолуния жители Иба устраивали жуткие пляски вокруг идола Бокрага — огромного водяного ящера.
Но миновали тысячелетия, и в Землю Мнар пришли люди. На реке Аи они построили города Траа, Иларнек и Кадатерон. Самые смелые построили около Иба город Сарнат.
Прошло много времени, в течение которого люди Сарната наблюдали за жителями Иба. Вскоре сарнатцы решили захватить город и убить жителей. В результате Иб был захвачен, а рыболюди либо убиты, либо сброшены в озеро. Все идолы были разрушены, оставили лишь ящера Бокрага. Его поставили в главный храм Сарната, в честь победы над Ибом.
На утро оказалось, что идол исчез, а верховный жрец Та́ран-Иш мёртв. Перед смертью он успел лишь начертать на алтаре знак Рока.
Прошло множество лет, город цвёл, один жрец сменял другого. Каждый год, в день победы, проходил грандиозный пир. И вот наступил день тысячелетия со дня победы. Были приглашены люди со всей Земли Мнар. Незаметно, в разгар пира, с озера поднялся туман и застелил само озеро и город. Из озера вышли рыболюди. Народ бежал из Сарната. А рыболюди заняли город и теперь это был уже их пир.
Через много лет путешественники решили посетить Сарнат, но на его месте было обширное болото, населённое рыболюдьми. В центре стоял идол Бокраг.

In the land of the MNAR lies a huge lake, next to which the city of IB is located. Green, lupo -eyed, lop -eared and also dumb fish -like creatures live in Iba. During each full moon, the inhabitants of Iba arranged terrible dances around the idol of Bocrage - a huge water lizard.
