Живет очень страшная и злая змея!
Звать ее Горынычем, многие силачи

Меч мой наточен, стрелы сверкают сталью,
Словно стена мой щит!
Боже, храни меня
От дьявольского огня!

Закатим праздник в мою честь!
Держись, змея!
Подходит к завершенью жизнь твоя!
Я клянусь своей ногой – я возвращусь домой
Со змеиной головой!
Эх, друзья, давай,
Дверь мне отворяй да на дорожку наливай!
Поскакал в далекие края я!
Выпей за меня да лихом не поминай!
Выжженное поле, безжизненная земля…
Смерть покорила себе здешние края!
Где-то далеко дом родной ждет меня домой,
Где-то впереди тот, кто отнял мой покой!
Вот я вижу пик, заостренный, как стрела,
Вот я слышу крики сожженных заживо дотла…
Побежал вперед я, оставил позади коня,
Вдруг увидел змея, а змей увидел меня!
Сквозь холодный пот, почуяв жар огня,
В последний миг вдруг осознал всю серьезность я!
Бросившись в сторону, схватил я лук и стрелы,
Но не успел даже сделать прицел –
Мощной волной от огня меня завертело,
Лук свой в руках удержать не сумел!
И в панике я бросился бежать к горе!
Струи огня вокруг меня били все сильней!
Повсюду был горячий дым, щипал глаза,
Но он же от змеиных глаз меня спасал!
И тут же вверх по горе взбежал, а змей меня не видел,
И вскоре оказался на вершине.
Высоко, вниз упасть легко… Змей кружил чуть ниже, был недалеко…
Я с криком: «Была, не была», ему на спину прыгнул!
Змей взвился подо мной и завопил истошно!
Яростно сам не свой брыкался суматошно!
Бешено я дышал, вцепившись мертвой хваткой,
Вся моя душа сидела где-то в пятках!
Выдохнув, я достал своей меч из ножен резко, –
Что же, змея, финал подходит нашей пьеске!
Змей закричал опять, предчувствуя кончину!
Я опустил свой меч на шею животине!
Змей полетел к земле
С башкой, висящей на сопле…
Радуйтесь, люди, вот и нашелся тот, кто
Змеюку победил!
Еду домой я, встречайте, как подобает,
Мастера добрых сил!
Но лишь заехал я в село,
Ко мне подбежал наш жрец:
«Ты что натворил, урод?!
Страшный нас ждет конец!»
Толкнул я его: «Не порти, праздник, глупец!»
Нет, не потревожит больше нас змея,
Безголовой ее оставил я!
Вся деревня веселится вновь,
Океанами течет вино!
Но вдруг увидел я
На горизонте языки огня!
Под девичий дикий вой
С двойною головой
Летел к нам змей стрелой!..
Живет очень страшная и злая змея!

Повсюду был горячий дым, щипал глаза,

И тут же вверх по горе взбежал, а змей меня не видел,
И вскоре оказался на вершине.
Высоко, вниз упасть легко… Змей кружил чуть ниже, был недалеко…
Я с криком: «Была, не была», ему на спину прыгнул!
Змей взвился подо мной и завопил истошно!
Яростно сам не свой брыкался суматошно!
Бешено я дышал, вцепившись мертвой хваткой,
Вся моя душа сидела где-то в пятках!
Выдохнув, я достал своей меч из ножен резко, –
Что же, змея, финал подходит нашей пьеске!
Змей закричал опять, предчувствуя кончину!
Я опустил свой меч на шею животине!

С башкой, висящей на сопле…
