Здравствуйте!
Вот такое письмо пришло мне некоторое время тому назад.
"Доброго и благословенного дня Вам, уважаемая редакция программы "Аэростат"! Недавно слушал передачу про Конфуция и мне пришла удивительная мысль - может быть стоит рассказать о такой интереснейшей теме как китайский чай? Или даже не только про китайский, а про чай вообще.
Я верю, что если Вы расскажете всем нам, вашим радиослушателям, несколько таких историй про чай, если мы вместе послушаем еще несколько шедевров музыкального неисчерпаемого богатства Востока, в мире будет на один час больше Мира и Добра. А если во время Вашей передачи выпить пару чашечек этого ароматного и животворного напитка, тогда мы все станем чуточку добрее и здоровее.

Наблюдательные китайцы говорили: "вся вселенная помещается в чайнике". И на то есть причина: ведь, за исключением воды, чай является самым употребляемым напитком на земле. Самым употребляемым - и самым древним: история питья чая людьми насчитывает как минимум пять тысяч лет.
Чай прославляли как исцеляющий напиток и долго применяли как лекарство. Восточный философ и врач Ибн Сина говорил: "Чай освежает тело, укрепляет дух, смягчает сердце, пробуждает мысли, прогоняет леность". Cо временем из лекарства чай стал повседневным питьем - но ценности своей не потерял: просто стал лечить не только тело, но и душу.
Мудрецы говорят: "Чай пьют, чтобы забыть шум мира". А вьетнамский учитель Тич Нат Хан советует: "Пей свой чай медленно и с почтением, как если бы он был осью, на которой вращается мир - медленно, ровно, не кидаясь навстречу будущему".
И остается повторить вслед древним: "Чай - это жидкая мудрость".

Говорят, что чай открыл божественный предок китайской нации, Второй Император и Пахарь Духа Шен Нун, который ходил по земле и исследовал свойства всех растений. И жил он в доисторические времена, примерно за пять тысяч лет до сегодняшнего дня.
Знатоки древней мудрости уверяют, что в те времена мы были ближе, чем сейчас, к растительному миру и, сконцентрировавшись, прозорливый человек мог почувствовать - для чего какое растение может быть полезно.
Поначалу чай использовался как целебное питье, снимающее усталость, укрепляющее силы и зрение. Буддийские монахи пили чай, чтобы не засыпать во время медитации; а помедитировав, часто пускались в путешествие - и вместе с монахами чай попал в Корею, Японию и в другие страны этого региона.
К V веку его начали пить все, с поводом и без повода. А к X веку чай стал национальным напитком Китая и - следовательно - предметом торговли.

В Японии чай известен с VII века . Как и почти все остальное, чай туда был завезен из Китая. Считается, что разводить чай в Японии начал монах Сайсе, а массовое разведение собственного чая в Японии связано с личностью мастера Эйсая, который привез из Китая чайные кусты и стал выращивать чай при дзен-буддийском монастыре.
Скоро появились и чисто японские сорта чая; а в XII м веке в Японию из Китая привезли способ изготовления измельченного порошкового чая.
Поначалу это, естественно, был напиток буддистских монахов и дворцовой знати. Потом к питью чая подключились самураи, а за ними уже и вся Япония.
В средние века буддийскими монахами была разработана японская чайная церемония - именно она и стал знаменита на весь мир.
