Мы жили вместе столько лет,
Из одного котла хлебали кашу.
И верили, сомненья нет,
В счастливую фортуну нашу.
Как много раз друг другу мы,
Сил не жалея, помогали

Его судьба покрыта мглою.
Второго к перемене мест.
Вело слепое благородство.
Он записался в красный крест
И умотал на дальний-дальний-дальний остров.
Лечил туземцев он как знал,
И может быть, за ними следом
Он ненадолго даже стал
Немного в чём-то людоедом.
А жизнь проходит где-то там...
Как видно, снова стороною.
Мне суждено, я знаю сам,
Прожить с такою же судьбою.
Вот прям сейчас меня зовут,
Опять куда-то посылают.
Туда, где пальмы не растут,
И где колибри не летают.
А я всю жизнь хотел туда,
Где на веранде лунной ночью
Я мог сидеть бы до утра,
Читать, творить, корпя над каждой строчкой.
Но говорят сурово, «встань!»
И новый рейс мне покупают
Туда, вообще в тьмутаракань,
Куда и зэков больше не ссылают.
Но тем приятней всякий раз –
Мне это снова душу греет–
Что хоть один, один из нас
Добиться большего сумеет.
Желаю вам успеха, братцы
И сил, и веры, и идей
Которых хватит, чтоб добраться
До светлой гавани своей.
И помахав вдогонку вам
Кричу я снова по привычке.
Друзья, до встречи где-то там!
Где там? Ну, там – у чёрта на куличках!
