Fiddler's Green - Born to Be a Rover - оригинальный текст песни, перевод, видео

I walked five miles, then I took a car

It soon broke down, so I didn't get far

I stole a bike, but it was in vain

Both wheels bent, so I took a train

The wagon packed, what a nasty smell

Had to leave that living hell

Just walk again, that's what I do

Aching muscles and a hole in my shoe

No home, no friends, a poor man's lot

Fifteen bucks, that's all I got

I'm on the road, will it ever end?

Got a sleeping bag and a torn-up tent

Rain and snow and sleet and hail

Never stop, I walk the trail

Across the plain a shimmering light

Sunset glow, and storms at night

Road to nowhere

Startin' all over

Living in clover

Born to be a rover

I wash my shirt by the riverside

Don't need to run to save my hide

A fireplace by a lonely lake

A pot of stew, that's all it takes

I'm loving it, my country life

Got a dirty mug and a pocket knife

Wherever I walk, I walk alone

Into the night, far away from home

The end of the journey still unknown

Don't know which place will be my home

Every day I grab my cane

The wind and the waves, they keep me sane

The darkness yields to the morning light

Sun on my skin, my spirit's bright

As long as these feet will carry me

The woods and hills my life will be
none
