Когда пахнет холодным туманом
Над лесами сибирской тайги,
Когда снегом сверкают поляны,
Льдом покрыты пороги реки.
Когда иней седой бородою
Украшает кусты у тропы,
И сияет полярной звездою

Покидаю я на ночь избушку,
Подперев ворота старым пнем,
Выхожу я один на опушку,

Черный лес молчалив и задумчив,

Он умоет с полей грязный снег.
Лишь во мраке глубоком колодца
Стынет лед, что не таял вовек.
Это сон... Наяву только вьюга
Кружит вальс среди голых осин,
Заметая снегами округу
В январе самой темной из зим...
