Душа металась в застенках Разума, в стены билась, искала выход,

...Когда-то грязью до дна измазана,
Искалечена и распята,
Душа искала защиты Разума,

А Разум холоден и расчётлив, и нет ему никакого дела,
Душа возвысится ли, умрёт ли, в его владенья войдя несмело.

Но что нас ждёт впереди, не знают не только люди, но даже боги.
Сначала - да, сила отводила
Беду и оберегала Душу
От зла, от чувств, а ещё учила
Словам не верить и клятв не слушать.
Защищена и надёжно скрыта, и впрямь добраться с тех пор немыслимо
До неё за стальными плитами, ни искать, ни взывать нет смысла, но
Ей всё слышно: и крик, и шёпот, - и отозваться порой готова,
Но властным взглядом правитель опытный говорить запрещает снова.
И долго молча Душа смирялась,
Да только Разум всесильным не был.
Однажды песня - какая малость! -
Как гром небесный, встряхнула небо.
И было в песне той столько силы, и так звала она, так звенела,
Что, позабыв о своём бессилии, задохнулась Душа от гнева.
И замерла в лабиринтах Разума, объяснений его не слушая.
"Если к счастью мне путь заказан, вернусь я к Богу, там будет лучше...
Чем быть настоль от тебя зависимой - прочь! Назад, ничего не требуя!
Не защита, ты - плен! Немыслимо!
Не мешай, возвращаюсь в небо я!"
...И летела, опять летела, и
так легко дышалось ей в этот час,
А навстречу дыханье белое
шло из песни, чему-то радуясь.
