Говорит король сурово:
Не давайте мне жаркого,
Не давайте даже рыбу фиш.
Я ничьей не жажду крови,
Я добра хочу корове,
Я хочу одной моркови лишь.
Желаю есть салат,
Капусту и шпинат,
Причём не на престоле, а на стуле.
Желаю рыбку - в глубине,
Желаю птичку - в вышине,
И чтобы зайчики - в лесу, а не в кастрюле.
И король надевши туфли,
Целый день ходил по кухне,
Вместо сабли с вилкой на боку.
Ни капусты, ни шпината -
Только зайцы и цыплята,
И олени в собственном соку.
А он желает есть салат,
Капусту и шпинат,
Причём не на престоле, а на стуле.
И чтобы рыбка - в глубине,
И чтобы птичка - в вышине,
И чтобы зайчики - в лесу, а не в кастрюле.
Караул ! Скорей на помощь !
Королю потребен овощ:
Пастернак, турнепс или редис.
Он худеет, он хиреет,
А вокруг никто не верит,
Что всё это не каприз.
Что он желает есть салат !
Капусту и шпинат,
Причём не на престоле, а на стуле !
Желает рыбку в глубине !
Желает птичку в вышине !
И чтобы зайчики - в лесу, а не в кастрюле !
День и ночь в тупом испуге
У одра толкутся слуги:
"Боже мой ! Кончается король !"
"Может примет он лангусту
За брюссельскую капусту ?
А фазаньи яйца - за фасоль ?..."
А в прихожей королевской
Три лакея с рожей мерзкой
День и ночь хрустели напролёт
И капустой, и редиской, -
Почитая слишком низкой
Эту пищу для своих господ.
А он хотел поесть салат,
Капусту и шпинат...
Причём не на престоле, а на стуле...
И чтобы рыбка в глубине...
И чтобы птичка в вышине...
И чтобы зайчики в лесу, а не в кастрюле...
